I’ve decided to answer some frequently asked questions over my next few posts, the first one ‘Can I eat Mayo on the paleo diet?’
Yes, yes, yes you can eat mayonnaise on the paleo diet. But there is an out clause here.
Avoid Store Bought Mayo
Most store bought mayo’s contain sugar, preservatives, and additional additives that we really don’t need. Further to that many of them contain oils that are toxic to our bodies, such as sunflower oil, canola oil, soy bean oil and other vegetable oils. So check the labels very carefully and avoid them if they have any of these ingredients.
Make Homemade Mayo
Making your own homemade mayo is super simple. It takes less than 10 minutes to make, is delicious and why buy it when you can make it right?
A few weeks back, Paul, my resident paleo ex-chef, showed us just how simple it was to make a paleo mayonnaise. My daughter recently took this mayo to university and shared it round with her friends and they all loved it as well. Give it a try, you’ll love it!
