Food Diary: Day 1

Okay so I promised to do a 29 day visual food diary over this month and today is the first day…well I actually started one day ahead of time because I wanted to post the pictures. But hey…that’s okay.

Keeping a food diary is a great way to stay accountable to yourself. Join in the fun and come by and share what you ate daily as well.

So I started my day off with a pot of green tea. Seems to be my daily ritual. It used to be 3 cups of regualr tea with soy milk but since chagning to the paleo diet, green tea is better for me :)

Breakfast was a bacon and vegetable omelette. Drizzled wth olive oil at the end for some extra fat and fullness.

Lunch was a chicken salad. Made with last nights left over roast chicken and some salad stuff (whatever is around) and smothered in a homemade dressing. Yum, yum.

For dinner we had pork patties with a vegetable stir fry and some paleo friendly homemade mayonnaise.

And that was me done for the day :)

looks good! i cant imagine an omelet without the cheese you make it look good! what homemade dressng you have???

Omelette’s are delicious and taste just as good without cheese. The dressing is made with olive oil, flaxseed oil, apple cider vinegar, wholegrain mustard, salt, pepper and some lemon juice.

Well, I also followed a familiar pattern today. I started with coffee adulterated with heavy cream and local honey–sipped slowly of course. I ate one large meal, starting with fruit (grapefruit, orange, banana) and a large leafy salad (red leaf lettuce, celery, grape tomatoes, green onion) and a main course of a slice of roast lamb re-heated with bone broth stew (beef bone broth with chunks, rutabaga, carrots, brussels sprouts and cabbage.) Portion size would predict today was a maintenance day rather than a weight loss day and that’s okay. :-) )

Sounds like a good day there Nance. I do love my coffee too and usuall drink one every day or 2 with coconut cream. This gives it a nice sweetness without adding any sweetener. Thanks for checking in, love to see you back here soon. I will be posting my diray again tomorrow :)

  3. DELICIOUS DAY!!! :)

If you want to mix things up in the AM… roast butternut squash and fold it into your omelet! It’s like cake for breakfast!
